Currents and Cascades

Hailed as a "simply ideal" partnership by Le Devoir, pianist Meagan Milatz (Prix Opus Discovery of the Year) and cellist Cameron Crozman (“Canada’s next big cello star” CBC Music) are excited to return to Collines-en-Musique to present two monumental sonatas for cello and piano. Beethoven's fifth sonata heralds the beginning of the composer’s late period, where moments of extreme experimentation and struggle are contrasted by moments of sublimity and timelessness. Rachmaninoff’s expansive sonata wears its heart on its sleeve, with sweeping and endless melodies that express a full range of human emotion and a profound journey from darkness to light. In addition to these two great sonatas is a new work by Canadian composer Graham Campbell written in 2024 for Meagan and Cameron, where vivid imagery from nature inspires a feeling of personal adventure and exploration.
